Members eyeball987 Posted January 22, 2005 Members Posted January 22, 2005 They are coming off after less than a week. They died real quick. I like them better than the EXP's and the Alchemy Bronze (still have to try the Al Phos) but after only a couple hours of play time, they are shot. Elixirs are the only string that seems to last for me. Plus, I like the brightness.
Members onetubetone Posted January 23, 2005 Members Posted January 23, 2005 If you like SP's, try Newtone Master Class Phosphor Bronze or for more of a value John Pearce Phosphor Bronze... I guarantee you will like either of those brands better (the Newtones are awesome) and will last longer.
Members eyeball987 Posted January 23, 2005 Author Members Posted January 23, 2005 My hands eat strings. I have that corrosive sweat that eats metal. Uncoated strings last a day or maybe two on my acoustic. When I gig with my Les Paul or Strat, strings last for a set and then I have to adjust for dead strings for the next two. Elixirs are bright enough that they last me for about three weeks before I change them. I am a slave to the tone so if inspiration comes at the cost of new strings then I might as well buy the ones that last the longest. I have heard that the JP's are great but I don't want to get hooked on them and then have to change them every other day. I am always open to suggestions thoughl
