Members johnnydeformed Posted March 2, 2005 Members Posted March 2, 2005 I recently picked up an Irish bouzouki off of ebay (it sounds great) I need to get a case for it but I dont know who sells one. Any suggestions?
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted March 3, 2005 Members Posted March 3, 2005 Irish bouzoukis come in several sizes/body styles, so I'd first contact the manufacturer, if known.Otherwise, you'll just have to measure every part and shop around...a friend of mine has one that is wider than most and he uses a Martin OOO-sized HSC.HTH.
Members zookie Posted March 3, 2005 Members Posted March 3, 2005 I keep mine in a generic acoustic guitar gig bag. Terry's right about body shapes. Did you get a teardop shape or a guitar shape? It's a great instrument, isn't it? I tune GDAD to get a real drone going on G and D tunes. ADAD is another viable tuning, but I'd miss that G note.
Members johnnydeformed Posted March 3, 2005 Author Members Posted March 3, 2005 It's a troubodor (sp?) All solid maple I believe. It's the teardrop shape. I dont know the exact measurement but its not very wide.
Members zookie Posted March 3, 2005 Members Posted March 3, 2005 Troubadour has a website (Google "Troubadour Irish Bouzouki"). You might find some information there.
