Members onetubetone Posted March 17, 2005 Members Posted March 17, 2005 http://www.digitalsoundplanet.com/Members/...8_000026471.mp3 My friend, who's a better singer than me , is singing. The guitar is recorded direct with K&K Trinity Western. Tell me what you think!
Members JasmineTea Posted March 17, 2005 Members Posted March 17, 2005 Here goes.. ..Sounds like you were holding a gun to the singers head, mabey give him a shot or two of whiskey prior to recording next time.
Members LDF Posted March 17, 2005 Members Posted March 17, 2005 Right now I'm at work so I can't listen to the song, but I'm a huge Colin Hay fan. So please somebody tell me what song it is?
Members onetubetone Posted March 17, 2005 Author Members Posted March 17, 2005 I Just Dont Think I'll Ever Get Over You. Don't be mean to the singer, it's his first time recording.

I can't sing well either, so I always give lots of leaway. I look forward to hearing it when I get home. I got 7 more hours left, it's gonna be a long night.
Members LDF Posted March 17, 2005 Members Posted March 17, 2005 It was pretty decent. The guitar playing was good. Your friend only needs some vocal strengthening. He came in too soon on a couple beats here and there, like the very first line.

Members sparkplug Posted March 17, 2005 Members Posted March 17, 2005 do you happen to have the tab to that song? I have been really wanting to learn it....anybody???? thanks
Members FingerBone Bill Posted March 17, 2005 Members Posted March 17, 2005 Tough crowd eh?Colin Hay has a sound and phrasing that is hard to capture - I think much of it stems from his quirky character. (That and the fact that he has a great vocal quality too.)I thought that the singer warmed up after a timid start. (You?)Thanks for sharing - I enjoyed it. BTW - Colin Hay often uses alternate tunings, I'm not familiar with the original of that particular song but it might be something worth looking into.
Members AJWhiting Posted March 18, 2005 Members Posted March 18, 2005 I play this song in open C Tuning. CGCGCE It alternates between open, fifth and seventh frets during the verses. There are two places where he drop down to the second fret and during the title line he alternates between the 7th and 9th fret. His ornaments are something that I sort of make up as I go! I love this song.
Members onetubetone Posted March 18, 2005 Author Members Posted March 18, 2005 I played it in DGCFCE. Seemed to sound most like his version.
