Members rockdawg Posted March 19, 2005 Members Posted March 19, 2005 This guitar pickup is driving me nuts. I took it to a highly qualified repair person and he said that it's about as good as it can be. Sounds like crap the high E and B strings and Low E are totally out of balance with the other strings (much louder). I'm afraid if I sell it someone else will just say this is a piece of crap and return it. It's several years old in a Martin MC16-GtE. The pickup is the one that has a mic built in.(the mic doesn't have this problem) Any help would be appreciated.
Members Kevin_FL Posted March 19, 2005 Members Posted March 19, 2005 I think Taylor & Martin got so many complaints about this system that they got rid of it in a hurry. The biggest complaint is feed back if any mic is dialed in. Uneven string response on any under saddle system is usually caused by improper angle over the saddle, the saddle surface being flat and in contact with the piezo element. Many techs lower the action on these guitars by merely sanding down the bottom of the saddle. If you go too far, you lose pressure on the piezo element.
