God. No idea. I know Larrivee doesn't. I do.

I've heard good things about Lakewood. They certainly look good. Their HQ is in Germany but I heard the guitars are actually built in Russia.

I know Legend Guitars does (or "hand voice" in their vocab), so I think does co-founders Brace and Sigurdson with instruments built in their own names.

Like I said in a thread I ran a while ago, my Sigurdson showed very few hints of dead spots, but then the top may not be at fault causing this. The g sharps are a trifle dampened/ muddy, but now we're splitting hairs - "he who seeks shall find" as it were. Playing the guitar you won't hear it.

Sorry, never played a Lakewood.

Solitaire,

Funny thing, your post brought back a long forgotten memory. I can actually take personal credit for introducing Jeff Sigurdson to Jesse Brace. I was working with Jeff in the assembly room at Larrivee and I knew Jesse from the training we did together with Michael Dunn...Weird.

They are very good instruments - certainly on par with Martin (and very inspired by them as well) - unfortunately, with the weak dollar and the strong euro - they are becoming quite expensive - and no - they are not made in Russia but in Martin Seeliger's small factory/workshop in Giessen, Germany - www.lakewood.de
- they both have a picture and a video presentation of the luthiers working there..:)

But I do have a link for a Russian guitar factory - Akkord...(in Russian only, unfortunately - but that's what we have online translators for..:))
