Decently priced OM or OOO model...

I'm pretty dead-set on going with this body style for my next acoustic purchase. I've been seriously eyeing the Blueridge BR-163 for the money, but wanted to see what others were out there for the buck. I can find the 163 for 500, so I'll say the price range is pretty much stuck at that and if it increases, probably not more than 600. So......Martin is out. :)

What do you all suggest?

Nice solid spruce top. And a killer price. I bought one of the "O" series HC30 classicals a while back and was amazed with the quality and sound for 100 bucks. I am getting one of these asap. BTW.. judging from the grain patterns inside and outside the HC30, the back and sides appear to be solid Ovangkol too (hence the "O" series designation. Anyway a solid wood guitar (with scalloped bracing) for less than a cheap laminate starter.. Ya can't go wrong.

This is the Atlas series Concert size, almost the size of a Taylor 214, beautiful Solid Spruce top, Excellent tone, just plains resonates, very nice neck

Jim

PS- On Ebay some Blueridge BR-143s for 375, great price for a very nice 000, Martin 000M?

I agree that the Blueridge BR-143 is a

good option. The ones on eBay for $375

are without cases though.

But if you're hellbent on getting an OM/000

with solid rosewood back & sides, you're

going to have a hard time beating the

Blueridge BR-163 in terms of price, value,

quality, feel, and sound.
