I am wanting opinions on the best brand and gauge (preferably light to medium) strings to put on my new Larrivee LV-03.I prefer a good even tone with strong bass, but also a little on the bright side.If it's relevant,my preference on my electrics are D'Addario XL 10-46.Here's a dierct link for the guitar's specs:

You'll just have to try different brands and decide which ones you like best. I prefer John Pearse PB strings on my Martin D-18V. I went through about 15 different brands and types before deciding they were the ones for me.

Nice guitar by the way.

The first thing to determine is what string material. My recommendation is to start with a light acoustic gauge Phosphor Bronze. These will have a 0.012 gauge high E. DR's, D'Addarios, Martins, whatever. I like the DR Rare Earths, D'Addario EJ16 (12-52), and Martin SP's, to name just three. If these are not bright enough try a set of 80/20 Bronzes. These will be noticeably brighter. If you want more bass try a Bluegrass set, which uses medium wounds and light steels, or a full medium set. Some prefer coated strings, however they tend to be less bright. Trial and error will get you there eventually, and also keep in mind that your guitar will improve with age as it opens up.
