Members rockon1202 Posted June 20, 2005 Members Posted June 20, 2005 I've got an old Epiphone dreadnaught that's probably at least 20 years old, but I'd actually like to find out how old specifically and where it was manufactured as well. Where would I need to look to run a check on the serial number?

Members 54merk Posted June 24, 2005 Members Posted June 24, 2005 You have an Asian made Epiphone. These were manufactured by various manufacturers in different countries, hence it is extremely difficult to determine when it was made. It does not make a whole lot of difference anyway since it's not a collectible instrument, other than to satisfy your curiosity.
Members slider Posted June 24, 2005 Members Posted June 24, 2005 what is the serial number and model number. I bet I can find the date.

Members 54merk Posted June 27, 2005 Members Posted June 27, 2005 You can try the Epiphone forum. You'll need to register first. http://www.gibson.com/products/epiphone/forum/toast.asp?sub=showsearch&action=posts The model is a Flat Top 150 which I am fairly certain is a Japanese guitar with a bolt on neck made between '71 and '81. That's the best I can figure out. The info. below is taken from the Vintage Guitar Guy, a very useful site. http://www.provide.net/~cfh/epiphone.html 1971 to 1981 Japanese Model NumbersNote: not interested in these model.
