I'm wondering what everyone here thinks is the best time to end an ebay auction. Maybe Sunday night? I'm assuming most people are home at this time of the day, any opinions?

typically a weekend night, Fri, Sat, or Sun, works better than a week day night. I also try and end my listing after 10 pm eastern so those on the west coast have a chance to be off work when it ends when I list on a weekday.

i've sold 6 guitars on e-bay and about 10 various other items and i learned [or didn't learn] one thing. i racked my brain, with a friend trying to figure all that stuff out and we got nowwhere. we tried different days to end, different times, so they would all be home from work. sometimes things went good and sometimes they sucked. maybe you have to sell hundreds of things and keep a log or something. the guitars were the best money makers for sure, but they were all good top quality instuments. seems to be a lot of variables. sold two identical guitars at different dates. the first auction there were 24 bidders and they went nuts fighting over it. a week later auctioned the second guitar, exactly the same in same time period, and got 100.00 less dollars with only 4 bidders. i give up. good luck

The first auction determined the going rate for your guitars. Most of the previous bidders probably dropped out attempting to get the second one knowing that it would probably sell for the same amount (which it did practically) Only the top few bidders who didn't win the first guitar bothered to try for the second one.
