Members Boom Posted July 21, 2005 Members Posted July 21, 2005 I have an Epiphone acoustic and when I put any pressure on or around the bridge area I can hear creaking noises from the wood top flexing. It seems to be the top rubbing against the wood reinforcements inside. I'm trying to record some muted guitar parts and it's really hard not to make it squeak while playing muted. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Thanks

Members zookie Posted July 21, 2005 Members Posted July 21, 2005 I had a Yamaha that started making creaking and other noises around the bridge area. One day the bridge popped off. From that experience, I'd say loosen the strings and take it to a luthier and have him look at it.
Members Boom Posted July 21, 2005 Author Members Posted July 21, 2005 I'll have somebody check it out, but I only paid $30 for it, so I might end up trading it for some Scotch if it's gonna cost much to fix.
