Members badgererer Posted August 4, 2005 Members Posted August 4, 2005 D string...at the bridge...I've tried the usual pencil lead on the groove of the bridge, but it is breaking at the same place, on the little raised bit after it comes out of the peg. Its irritating me! What should I do? Cheers
Members JasmineTea Posted August 5, 2005 Members Posted August 5, 2005 That little raised bit is called a saddle. There's too much of an edge where the string goes over the saddle, file or sand it so it's round. Or get a new saddle.
Members digitalsnipe Posted August 6, 2005 Members Posted August 6, 2005 What type of guitar are you playing? My classical does the same thing - same string - same place. I switched to medium tension strings and so far, so good. The strings don't have the sound of the heavier tension but that's the trade-off.
