Members Porkchop Posted August 16, 2005 Members Posted August 16, 2005 I had a previous post asking for advice on this subject. And the consensus was: Experiment, do what your ears like best. Thanks a lot. Well I can tell you now after experimenting with bone saddles that it's not the way to go, and frankly I could not recommend it when Tusq sounds so much better. I mean it's like night and day. Even others around me remarked how my guitar lost it's volume and pretty much made a fine guitar sound like crap. With Tusq I got back the full spectrum with no weak spots.
Members JasmineTea Posted August 16, 2005 Members Posted August 16, 2005 I like both. I suppose it depends on the guitar. To my ears, both boost the mids. I put a tusq saddle on my Martin dread, sounds good. Put a bone saddle on the 000-1, sounds good. Both had micarta before replacing. I don't like micarta for a saddle.
