Pickup on Taylor 414ce very noisy all of a sudden

There is a rushing noise as if wind is blowing in the soundhole whenever the pickup on my Taylor is on. I still get the noise if I cover the soundhole, and it is there whether I'm playing or not. The battery is good. This is an older Taylor. Has anyone had this problem or know what it is?
