Members 3vcos Posted August 30, 2005 Members Posted August 30, 2005 Hi, I have an old Martin (1929 000-18) and I'm curious of the value of the guitar. Its in beat shape and needs various cracks fixed and a new bridge. The top is in very good shape. After restoration work, what could I expect to get for the guitar if I chose to sell it? Anyone have a recent blue book they could quote for me? I haven't seen one on ebay recently (this is how I usually find going values of instruments). I was told that repair charges could be anywhere between $1000 and $2000 but that was just a rough estimate. Also, anyone want to recommend someone to do the work? I dont mind shiping the guitar just as long as its in the continental US. My usual repair guy (an excellent repairman and listed on the Martin webpage) told me he's burnt out and didn't want to do it. Thanks,Tim

Members PBBPaul Posted September 1, 2005 Members Posted September 1, 2005 I'd try Gruhn's for some iea as to the value. For restoration, this guy does amazing work. Take a look at some of his sample projects as well as his client list.
