Members jjk8 Posted September 4, 2005 Members Posted September 4, 2005 I'm looking at buying my first guitar. I'm leaning towards a used elec/acoustic around the $300 range. I will probably play unplugged more than pluged, but I want the elec option as well. Any input would be great. Thanks.....
Members peppy Posted September 5, 2005 Members Posted September 5, 2005 Welcome to the forum. Main point is to get something that has decent action...easy enough to play.
Members rockfan Posted September 5, 2005 Members Posted September 5, 2005 Takamine is a good choice. They have good action, easy to play, and they can be plugged in.But for a Takamine $300 or less you may need to go to eBay.

Members leftync Posted September 6, 2005 Members Posted September 6, 2005 I'd recommend buying the best guitar you can afford, and add a pickup later. In your price range you can get a decent acoustic with a solid top that will improve with age. If you divert too much of the money to the electric part, you won't get as good an instrument.

Members UGB Posted September 6, 2005 Members Posted September 6, 2005 Skip the acoustic/electric and go for an all acoustic. In this price range, what you get in electronics, low end, you give up in basic guitar quality and performance. The Walden G570 is, to me, the best
