Please help me Alvarez RD 20S???

I am a beginner and trying to decide to buy my first guitar but don't know which. Please help me pick one.

or something else?

 

Budget is 250 MAX

They're pretty comparable. I don't think you can wrong with either but if you can, make sure you handle both and let your ears decide.

I recommend you get a bone saddle for your RD-20S. I put one in mine and it has made a huge difference in the sound.

Just got it set up like I like it with xtra lite strings, boy it sounds great. Do you have one of the new models or the older model. Love the new bridge design, where did you get your bone saddle from Jim

I have the older bridge design. I got my bone saddle from Bob Colosi at:

It's a little spendy but the benefit is that you have to do very little sanding to get a proper fit.

Hi Mark,
Which model bone saddle did you get, they do not list Alvarez, the Martin saddle looks very similar? I love the new design RD20, the new bridge gives you a higher string break angle which gives you great tone, sounds a lot better than my older AD60S. Plus the top is a beautiful piece of Spruce.
Let me know about which saddle you ordered, checked his site out. I have played a Blueridge BR-60 which has a bone nut and saddle, it sounds a bit too brite for me. Mine is really sounding good now
