Members carguy Posted September 16, 2005 Members Posted September 16, 2005 I have a Martin D-1, a Gibson Songwriter, an Ovation CelebrityDeluxe, a Fender standard strat, and a junk classical guitar, but Iwanted an accoustic/electric cutaway. I sent for a Tak EG530 SSC.Got it about a week ago. Know what? I like this guitar as good as anyI own or have played. Great tone (solid spruce top and mahoganyback and sides) great feel to the neck. It's a real comfortable guitar. Just thought I'd give my opinion, FWIW.
Members darkest_fugue Posted September 16, 2005 Members Posted September 16, 2005 taks have always blown hot and cold with me...ive even loved and hated ones that were the same model....bought one a while ago though that im very happy with....its a 10 year old natural that plays and sounds great and is just a total no nonsense guitar

Members rockfan Posted September 17, 2005 Members Posted September 17, 2005 Can't go wrong with a Takamine. When I bought mine I had played every acoustic in the shop. The sound and feel of it made me buy it. Here's a pic of mine:
Members colliewobble Posted September 18, 2005 Members Posted September 18, 2005 I got a new Takamine also. EG523SC - the jumbo body with cutaway. It's my first acoustic/electric so I'm learning how to get the best sound out of it. I go direct into the PA, though may route it thru my pedalboard first for the delay and compressor. I like the guitar a lot but want another one that I can keep in open D tuning. Not sure if I'd get another Tak or not, but something that sounds better than the soundhole pickup in my wife's old Takamine F-310.
