Members guitarcapo Posted October 18, 2005 Members Posted October 18, 2005 Depends on where they are. Are the ends tucked under the lining?

Members mr benn Posted October 20, 2005 Author Members Posted October 20, 2005 thanks for the reply?but could you explain a little more like does it affect the sound? i'm pretty skilled at wood working etc.and i found this handy tool at stew mac for the job? http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Clamps,_support_tools/Brace_Repair_Jack.html i think i could pull it off,...the job that is!
Members JasmineTea Posted October 20, 2005 Members Posted October 20, 2005 I suppose if you could see the problems with the braces and figure out whether it's fixable it may be worth a shot. I guess I'd rather buy a guitar in good working order than take a chance on something that needs repaire. The braces have a lot of effect on the tone. Luthiers carve them certain ways to achieve certain tones. If you think it's woth a shot, go for it.
