regluing braces??

hey folks just wondering how easy it is for a novice to reglue the ends of a couple of loose back braces? thanks!

Depends on where they are. Are the ends tucked under the lining?

eh i don't know cause i don't own the guitar yet it's second hand from elderly,just wondering if it's worth the hassle buying this guitar to fix? cheers

but could you explain a little more like does it affect the sound?

 

i'm pretty skilled at wood working etc.

and i found this handy tool at stew mac for the job?

I suppose if you could see the problems with the braces and figure out whether it's fixable it may be worth a shot.

 

I guess I'd rather buy a guitar in good working order than take a chance on something that needs repaire.

 

The braces have a lot of effect on the tone. Luthiers carve them certain ways to achieve certain tones.

 

If you think it's woth a shot, go for it.

Yep, I have a few of those myself.....easy to work with

 

It's no big deal to repair the brace Mr Benn.....AND if you get a good deal on the geetara'
