Members SteveKrasnow Posted October 17, 2005 Members Posted October 17, 2005 If your talking about 6 strings; Martin 000-28VS 1 13/16" nut Larrivee 000-50/60 1 13/16" nut Huss & Dalton 00's 1 7/8" nut Over 1 3/4" and it's starts getting hard to find a 6 string in anything wider. 1 3/4" nut and you have lots of options. Steve
Members JvK Posted October 17, 2005 Author Members Posted October 17, 2005 thanks, i see elderly instruments has quite a few of the h&d's,very nice, $!
Members leftync Posted October 17, 2005 Members Posted October 17, 2005 All the 6-string Seagulls are 1.8" wide at the nut. That's 1 13/16, I believe. Seagull'she 12 string is slightly wider, I think, at 1.9". Bigger than that, you'll have to go classical.
Members nezdispenser Posted October 19, 2005 Members Posted October 19, 2005 try a selmer style copy guitar. Range anywhere fom the Aria ones at $200 to hand made Parks, DUnns etc.. Neck is more like a classical, especially on the D hole models. They work for more then just gypsy jazz.
Members knockwood Posted October 19, 2005 Members Posted October 19, 2005 The Seagull Peppino D'Agostino model has a 1.9" nut. Damn nice guitar, IMO.

Members Musima Posted October 20, 2005 Members Posted October 20, 2005 You should also look at the Czech made Strunal acoustics - they are quite popular and both reasonably priced and well regarded in Europe:) - their neck width is in many instances 47 mm which in inches should be 1.85(using a web converter..) www.strunal.cz www.strunal.cz/new/index.php?cat=products&id=5 Here is the 47 mm D977 with solid cedar top and laminated rosewood back-sides
