Members veil Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 My guitar needs a neck reset but since I can't afford one right now I was trying to think of ways to improve the action. I shouldn't really do a truss rod adjustment because the neck isn't convex/concave, and I can't shave the bridge/saddle. I was wondering if I should use some lighter strings, and I was thinking maybe Silk & Steel? What do you think? Would that help? If not, do you have other suggestions?
Members Charlies Ghost Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 I'm not sure but i think if you get lighter strings(or take them off)your neck will arch back just like if you were doing a truss rod adjustment.I don't think your going to be able to get any lower action unless you shave the saddle and/or bridge in your case. Lighter strings or lower tension strings might help with the feel abit.Might be a good time to practice some slide.
Members the_schuster Posted October 25, 2005 Members Posted October 25, 2005 Yeah, they won't effect the action on the guitar. But they are very nice strings. I've had them on my Tak Jumbo for a while, I really like them.
