I am in hopes of info on anyone playing a Kona acoustic electric .

I am in the market for my 1st baby .

I have been researching Kona's for past 4-5 hrs .

The price's are great , but would like to hear how any of them play , and how you think they will hold up over all ???

Which one (s) definitely have solid top's ??

Which one would be a good 1st born ?

Thanks

I own a Kona K1E that I bought in 2004. It sounds great and looks great, very boomy and great sustain. I personally think it is the best value out there for the price (I paid less than 120.00 from P-Hill on ebay). Sounds, looks and feels a lot more expensive than it is. Read the reviews here in HC on the Acoustic Electric (K1E) and the K2. Both are consistantly rated pretty highly. By several reviewers who have been playing for many years and who own some other high dollar guitars.

The Signature Series and Gold series all have solid tops. The K1E and K2 series are laminates, but you wouldn't know it by listening.

I wouldn't have believed it before buying it. A few people I know bought Kona's after playing mine and they sound the same, which indicates to me that mine wasn't a fluke.
