Members Rada Posted November 5, 2005 Members Posted November 5, 2005 INTERNET!?!??! Go to Guitar Planet in Ventura California....that's where I'm buying my next Godin. sweet guy, great deals....
Members jerry_picker Posted November 5, 2005 Author Members Posted November 5, 2005 Thanks to all! I ran into a couple new A&L 00-sized parlour guitars at a local shop, and I was quite impressed by their tone and playability. They were not as flashy looking as my Johnson "Robert Johnson" guit, but they were tonally far superior. I like to shop around for variety, special deals, etc.
Members Whalebot Posted November 10, 2005 Members Posted November 10, 2005 Steer clear of the A&L AMI parlor models!!! The tuners are absolutely dreadful!!! I bought one and returned it the next day. It's true that they sound nice and deep, but the necks bow easily and the truss rod just doesn't hold very well. I know that they are only $200 but spend the money on a Martin parlor or even better a Larrivee, good God those are nice little guitars!!!

I just bought an AMI solid cedar topped, I have owned a baby taylor and played it side by side with a Larrivee. It playes much better than the Taylor and almost as well as the larrivee but the extra 400 for the larrivee did not justify it as a purchase. i would guess you played a bad one because all of the one that i payed were an outstanding value for a parlor. ....as far as the tuners go they seem fine they are just smaller than a conventional guitar due to the size of the guitar but they work fine and stay in tune well for me.
Members UGB Posted November 14, 2005 Members Posted November 14, 2005 I'm an internet dealer for A&L.I'm reputable too. I've never had a lick of problems w/any Ami's. I'd say you got a lemon.
