Members 44deluxe Posted November 14, 2005 Members Posted November 14, 2005 I am currently using 13s...would going to 12s be too light? Cheers
Members Tralfaz Posted November 14, 2005 Members Posted November 14, 2005 I've got 12's on my D-28, though I usually go for the 12-56 set with the slightly thicker wound strings.

Members Quake17 Posted November 14, 2005 Members Posted November 14, 2005 I prefer mediums on my Martin dred's as it seems to me that lights do not drive the top very well; but I tend to have a heavy hand. I agree that the "bluegrass gauge" set mentioned earlier is a good alternative choice as you still get the rumble of the bass strings. Part of the fun is tweaking the set-up and strings to your style. Cheers, Grant
