Members haz478 Posted November 13, 2005 Members Posted November 13, 2005 Hi there, Just purchased a larrivee parlour guitar...great fun, but noticed this morning on the inside of the guitar on the upper bout a black patch about 3'' by 5'', looks like a very professional repair? or is it part of the design? (guitar purchased new) anybody seen anything like this before? Thanks for any help
Members JasmineTea Posted November 13, 2005 Members Posted November 13, 2005 Jeez, now I gotta go look inside my guitar!
Members kwakatak Posted November 13, 2005 Members Posted November 13, 2005 I heard about this over at the Larrivee Forum. You may want to ask over there - since I don't own a Larrivee (yet!) I don't know for sure. I've never noticed it in the store demos that I've tried. FWIW, I think it may be the mounting point where the onboard electronics go, whether or not they eventually have the "barn door" cut out. It could be considered a good thing should you have an aftermarket B-Band installed, for example. I know they do this for their L, D and OM models but I'd never heard of a parlor getting the same treatment though.
Members haz478 Posted November 13, 2005 Author Members Posted November 13, 2005 Thanks guys, Yup, over on the larrivee forum thats exactly what they said it was........not a repair thank goodness. I can no happily get back to playing without the worry of the thing imploding on me!!! Just as as useless footnote, tried the dadgad tuning for the first time tonight....wow.....this is going to be a fun learning curve!!!

I have an older satin finish, mahogony back and sides, spruce top. It gets about as much play time as my other guitars. My wife likes the sound of it too.
Members haz478 Posted November 16, 2005 Author Members Posted November 16, 2005 oh its good alright.....cant put the damn thing down, now finding that a) the other guitars dont have a look in andb) the plectrums are now dusty all I need now is a porch to sit on and a mate with a banjo and Im all set........
