Members jrm27 Posted November 18, 2005 Members Posted November 18, 2005 Hey everyone! This is my first time posting in this forum, and a search didn't yield an answer, so please be gentle! I am looking for a breedlove (or Taylor) to play at my church and use to lead services. Does anyone have advice on where to look, what might be best suited, and what I coudl expect to pay? Thanks for any help you can give! -jon
Members Cldplytkmn Posted November 18, 2005 Members Posted November 18, 2005 find a local dealer, go play em. form your own opinions, likes, and dislikes then start shopping around.
Members hXc Posted November 18, 2005 Members Posted November 18, 2005 MusiciansFriend.com is by far the best online shop if you can't go to a local one.
Members onetubetone Posted November 18, 2005 Members Posted November 18, 2005 An excellent dealer who has Breedloves (and tons of Larrivees, another brand to check out) is www.guitaradoptions.com I got my larrivee from there, great service.
Members jrm27 Posted November 18, 2005 Author Members Posted November 18, 2005 I live many hours away from any retialer who stocks breedlove unfortunately! I used to live in POrtland and played a few there that I absolutely loved. So maybe a trip is in order. Has anyone had any experience with their lower priced guitars (ir. the Atlas series)? How are they? A shop about 2.5 hours away has a used one that I might make a point of trying out if they sound promising. Thanks everyone!

Members Quake17 Posted November 18, 2005 Members Posted November 18, 2005 Jon, I recently succumbed to my first Breedlove so I know how you feel. I tried a number of the Atlas models and they were fine for the price point. I opted to go for a different model direction though (the Pacific). I'm in Portland, OR so there are a good deal of Breedloves around, but I really got a deal from Music 123, so I can vouch for them as well. I'd second the advice to play before you buy, which will hopefully minimize any remorse later on. Best of luck, Grant

Members THB Posted November 19, 2005 Members Posted November 19, 2005 If you really want a Breedlove, which I can understand by the way, then a trip to Tumalow, Oregon where they are made is in order. It's quaint little place where I once placed third in the men's division of a racquetball tournament after hitting an amazing shot - behind my back from 38 feet and rolled the sucker out!Sorry, but I don't get a chance to tell that story much anymore.Breedloves are great guitars.
Members Matt McGriff Posted November 19, 2005 Members Posted November 19, 2005 Just received my Breedlove Revival DM today from www.notableguitars.com - highly recommend Jason. I also highly recommend the Breedlove Revival Series. Awesome guitars. Kim Breedlove is a genius. Please remember there is a huge difference between online shops like Notable and Guitar Adoptions, and warehousers like musiciansfriend. Notable and GA will actually open the box, inspect and setup the guitar and maybe throw in a couple sets of extra strings. MF and music123 simply order inventory by the truckload, store it in warehouses, and ship it when a order is placed. No inspection or setup.
