Members 21rush12 Posted November 22, 2005 Members Posted November 22, 2005 I got myself a ....Seagull..... "S Series - S6+ CW Cedar" ......about 12 months ago.....I love this acoustic, sounds great. I've tried quite a few sets of strings... Elixir - Excellent but expensiveGodin - Came with guitar, didn't like at allD'addario - Nice tones yet didn't last long Can anyone share with me their experiences with strings on their Seagull as I've yet to find a perfect string for mine which is affordable............ Thanks Johnny
Members hammergjh Posted November 22, 2005 Members Posted November 22, 2005 I use the D'addarios on my Seagull, M6 Gloss, they seem to last quite awhile and sound nice. I prefer bronze strings. The phosphor-bronze strings feel sharp and uncomfortable. The Martin strings sound nice, but go dead quickly and aren't cheap. The D'addarios are only 3 - 4 bucks a set.
Members 21rush12 Posted November 22, 2005 Author Members Posted November 22, 2005 Thanks for the reply, I've just ordered a set of both "Ernie Ball Earthwood 11-52's (Bronze)" and "Ernie Ball Acoustic Super Slinky 11-52's(Phosphur Bronze)". I'll see how these go over the next few weeks. Am I correct in saying that your suppose to get a more mellow tone with the phosphurs and a brighter tone with the plain branze strings....? I found a thread with a few positive responses on these strings used on satin finished bodies like my Seagull. Cheers again Johnny

I might be wrong, however. Can someone else chime in? Do a google search.
