Members guit30 Posted November 23, 2005 Members Posted November 23, 2005 Art And Lutherie? Really that good? Where? What kind of neck?Jim:)
Members PapaTom1 Posted November 23, 2005 Members Posted November 23, 2005 Art & Lutherie has the slimmest necks of all the Godin acoustics. Seagulls have a 1.8" neck, Simon & Patrick has a 1.75" neck, the A & L has a 1.6875 (1 11/16") neck, like Martin or Alvarez or Yahama.
Members PapaTom1 Posted November 23, 2005 Members Posted November 23, 2005 Oh, that's right. You asked how good they are. They are not bad, some are really good, but I would place them below Seagull and Simon & Patrick. Many have laminated tops, but you can find some with solid cedar or spruce tops. Those are pretty decent.I had one a while ago (cedar top) and I don't think it was as good as the Alvarez RD20, but if you try enough you can find one that's very good.
Members Whalebot Posted November 23, 2005 Members Posted November 23, 2005 I agree with Tom, you can find a good one. I found a dud AMI parlor, but the folk guitars in the same store sounded really nice. Not fantastic, but for $200, nice. I would'nt count on them lasting too long though.
