Ah, the Rodgers tuning machines. Exactly the kind I have specified for my Lowden that has been Custom Ordered, L112B, Hauser Style, 115-mm long, with pearl buttons.

Obscenely expensive, but so is the whole custom classical I am getting. The only thing that could be more expensive would be those same tuners, but in sterling silver. (Mine will be solid brass.)

You will love them. They look beautiful, but OMG, they work soooooo smoothly and effortlessly! Worth every penny, IMO.

David Rodgers has a very impressive site, to those of you who have never typed in. Numerous photos in his gallery of every design he offers, and that must be around 60. Around a year wait, unless you are a regular customer.

When I visited George Lowden in August (on an unrelated business trip) I made him aware that I had seen a year wait on the tuners and that he should order them as soon as possible.

He called David on his cell phone right in front of me (had the number pre-stored), they chatted a little, and then he got a guarantee of a rush order commitment from David, when my guitar would be near completion, the date at the time still unknown.

I was impressed to say the least. But George's personally made guitars have used the Rodgers for quite a while (which is how I found out about them in the first place) and so he is a "regular" customer.

My guitar will not be one of George's personally made ones, but rather just a custom Lowden with George doing the rosette himself, and overseeing a few other custom options. One of his personally made classicals would cost $12,000 to $20,000. Out of my price range, that's for sure. I still think I'm crazy for getting the one I am getting.
