Anybody like the Taylor 210? I really like the neck and the fact that it is an Americam made dread I can get for $700 including set up. Can't find a comparable Martin in that price range, really starting to love my Alvarez, it sounds like it is starting to open up after 4 monthes

I played one in a music store, and admit it sounded pretty good.

Are you looking for a straight up acoustic with no electronics? I think they're allright, but I can't tell a big difference between a 210 and a 110. You might want to check out a Blueridge 160,I believe you can get one around $500 on some online stores. They seem to get a good reveiw here.

It's not a bad guitar, although I'm sure you'll hear some opposing opinions to that here. It has a fairly mellow sound for a Taylor, particulary for a non rosewood Taylor. Quite playable to be sure, but the nut width is too narrow for me. I need 1 3/4 ". Decent volume and sustain, but for the money, in spite of the fact that I own a Taylor, I'd go with a Larrivee L-03 for pretty much the same money. I prefer the tone of the Larri, but you really can't go wrong either way. Both very good guitars for under a grand. Not trying to confuse you, it really comes down to personal preference. Canada is sort of America, right? I prefer both to the Martin in the same price range though.

I have played a BR-160, they are very nice, do not like the headstock and poor quality control of the company, they vary greatly, have played a Larrivee OM-3, the neck was too thick for me and the fretwork was poor up towards the 12th fret.

It is $899 most places I see, The Taylor 310s have a 13/4 nut, I like the 210s smaller neck 1 11/16 nut.

Maybe I'll just keep the Alvarez, has a better neck than the expensive Blueridge

If you can,I'd get the 210 or 110 and use the Alverez as a backup,or for different tuning guitar. Nothing wrong with that.

I have the 214 and it is super nice, really impressed with the quality even though it is a "lower end" model. Glad I went for the 2 series over the 1. I'd be willing to part with it for much less than $700...

Why do you want to part with it? I played a couple of 214s that had setup issues, you couldn't get a clean note on the hi E.

PS - love 110's , have not played a 210, just thought they would be better because of all solid wood

Go with a used guitar.

Larrivee D-03: ~$500

1 11/16" nut same C shaped neck I beleive though.

Larrivee D-03R: ~$675

Same as above but with EIR back/sides

Taylor 214: ~$500

Taylor 314: ~$800

The downside: lifetime warranties are frequently not transferrable; you have to be the original owner to benefit.

You may also try to find a used Tacoma. I think they are a wonderful guitar, and you get a whole lot more for your money with a Tacoma. Larrivee makes a great guitar also for the money.

Hey there. I use to own a Taylor 210, then I sold it to a friend in order to get myself a 510...which is killer. But in retrospect, I absolutely adored the 210. The craftsmanship that goes into every Taylor guitar is incredible, and the 210 really made me aware of this fact. It is such a solid guitar and the sound is amazing on that thing. Personally, it absolutely blew the Larrivee D03 away which was about 200$ more, but hey it's what you think sounds good that matters. In my opinion Taylors are absolutely extrodinary guitars, and the 210 is a testiment to that fact..

I have played the 214 several times, and always liked it a lot. The first time I tried it out, it was just a bit out of my price range, and I ended up with my Seagull instead. The next time, the price was fine, but I just decided I wanted to buy the Larrivee instead. Still think the Taylor 214 is a fine guitar, and I would not mind owning one.
