I'd gather that its their take on the J45. Maybe they got tired of making Martins. I've seen one J45 with a super dark burst and very small lighter area in the center that i loved. I like the looks of the burst on mahogany too. guess i'm just a sucker for a good burst.

yeah me neither... hard to tell with the finish... i think gibson was using whatever hardwoods they could get their hands on... that birch does look awesome.

I put a set of Grovers on my D-16GT. They fit without any reaming or drilling any new holes. Cost about $30 I think. And if you like ebony buttons, Larrivee makes fake ebony buttons that fit perfectly and look great.
