Hi.

 

I was wondering about humidifiers for a Strunal 4855 (solid cedar top). Would a sponge inside a plastic ziploc bag attached to the case work? I would leave the ziploc bag open, and the case standing up so that the sponge does not fall off the bag or touch the guitar directly.

 

Would regular lemon oil used for wooden furniture be good for the guitar?

Ziplock with a sponge sounds good. You can also use a large apple wraped in foil. Take a bite from the apple first, wrap it up and put it in the gigbox of the case.

Real lemon oil is about the best thing I know of for a guitar. Orange oil is good too. But don't use Pledge or Behold. Before I knew any better I put Pledge or Behold on my guitar. A cabnet maker chewed me out for doing so.

It does'nt take much to oil the fretboard, just a little on a rag. I always do the bridge too.
