Members DV-US Posted December 28, 2005 Members Posted December 28, 2005 Seen mf has Fender Stratacoustic for $179 was wondering how these guitars are.How do they play and sound unplugged? Is this a good price or should i look at others?I dont really want to pay much more than $200 and an electric acoustic would be nice but no neccessary.Any help appreceiated
Members kwakatak Posted December 28, 2005 Members Posted December 28, 2005 I think that they were made to be used solely plugged in because they sound "thin" (no bass or sustain) unplugged. My opinion would be to pass on this one by and get something a little nicer. Fender's acoustics are not as nice as their electrics.
Members KATMAN Posted December 29, 2005 Members Posted December 29, 2005 Fender's Stratacoustic was probably one of the worse idea Fender came up with. For $200 you can find a resonable acoustc/electric to play. I think Takamine's lower end ones,Jasmine are pretty decent. I have played a Jay Turser a/e that felt good and didn't sound thin unplugged. You can always go used,it will give you a little more depth to look at.

Fender should be ashamed to put their name on them.
Members SilleeSpyder Posted December 29, 2005 Members Posted December 29, 2005 +3 Yes, they sound horrible... maybe something fun for a collector to have -or someone who is looking for a "different" sound. Ibanez has a smaller body acoustic guitar that is similar but made of wood and it sounds about 5000 times better. In fact, it actually sounds pretty impressive -and I'm never really impressed by many Ibanez acoustics.
