Well, what's wrong with the sound now?

no no, the sound is great
it could be a little brighter, which i know the saddle and bridge pins can change... but what types of those would help me go in the bright direction

Save your money - put in a bone saddle in the bridge, and put the rest of the dough in the bank - You almost sound like some stupid kid whos money is burning a hole in their pocket , and cant wait to throw it away - ( sounds like my son - )

wow that's gotta be the most unhelpful answer ever.

"you're stupid"

i agree with the saddle/bridge

maybe you could look into a new pickup/preamp

you could always buy a couple differant sets of strings and try them out.

and don't forget new tuners.

just my .02

Go for a new acoustic guitar, perhaps getting even more cash by selling the stuff you're doubtful about. And don't worry too much about what it says on the headstock (Gibson, Fender, Taylor etc) find an instrument you like. You're buying a guitar, not a brand. But - and it's a big BUT - if you like the sound of what you've got, why change it?

A cheap easy way to modify the sound would be to buy a set of John Pearse KingPins. I have them on my Yamaha FG-340 and they significantly improved the tone and sustain. If you don't like the change, it is simple to remove them. I tried a couple of other brands of brass pins and these were clearly the best sounding and also look the best. Elderly has them at a good price.

Maybe its me but wouldn't it be a good to idea to know what kind of guitar he has before we start suggesting mods? if its a Carlo Robelli, i think i'd pass. if it.s a Manzer, i think i'd pass. in between those two extremes there's a world of things you might do.

Stophe88, perhaps you could answer a few questions:

Make and model of guitar? Current condition? Anything already done? What do you want to accomplish? What type of tuners, saddle, nut, strings, pickup, preamp, etc. do you currently have/use?

Frankly, and no insult intended, without some more info, i agree with Tony, sounds like a money solution looking for a problem.
