Members phundle Posted January 17, 2006 Members Posted January 17, 2006 Hey i'm an oldie just getting back into the game, mainly slide. I seem to remember that there were a couple of open tunings that were structured the same way so that you could play the same song in two keys by retuning and then hitting the exact same spots..... Am i making any sense? Please help.... Rob
Members LiveMusic Posted January 17, 2006 Members Posted January 17, 2006 uh, open D and open E? Or just capo it.
Members Freeman Keller Posted January 18, 2006 Members Posted January 18, 2006 Are you refering to the trick where songs in open G (A) can be played in D (E) by moving them one string lower (away from the floor)? It's a bit funky with a slide because now your single string runs are on the second string, but it can be done.
