Members lalatingstrings Posted January 28, 2006 Members Posted January 28, 2006 i just got one today.another really beautiful acoustic voice.it is a type of zither.it is triangle shaped, only 9 inches long.it is all solid wood, handmade by my dulcimer teacher.really beautiful mahogony top and cherry b/s.it has a little bird shaped soundhole, and it sounds just like a bird chirping when you bow it.i have it tuned in the key of c right now.it can be tuned to any key.ive also been using the bow on my dulcimer.that sounds awesome.i tuned my yairi koa to an open e minor the other nite and bowed a nice drone to accompany the dulcimer recording "poor wayfaring stranger".one of my fave old time songs.anyone bow their guit.and anyone have a bowed psaltry?really easy to play and very pleasant sounding.
