Ovation elite special better than standard elite?

Hi I'm a newbie in this forum. I just bought ovation elite special 1999. Is the elite special better than the standard elite?

I also bought the zoom A2, it sounds awesome!

There are many here who, for their own very valid reasons, don't think highly of Ovations. And there are too many others who do not have a mind of their own and speak disparagingly of Ovations just so they can seem to be cool.

I think highly of Ovations. I own an Elite SSB from 1989. I have never played a guitar in my life that stayed in tune better than that Ovation Elite. It stays in tune seemingly forever.

 

There is not much difference in quality between the special & the standard.

 

Ovation assets:

 

My Elite never feeds back.

 

It sounds fabulous plugged in.

It sounds pretty good unplugged.

 

I can use it for acoustic/electric, fuzz-tone, surf reverb, whatever I need. The Ovation Elite will accomplish.

 

A great guitar. Good choice. And if some wood-block headed luddites don't like your choice of guitar, take some pleasure as you watch them tune those wooden things, or as you hear the whineybabies say, "My guitar cracked!."
