Members guit30 Posted March 11, 2006 Members Posted March 11, 2006 I'm thinking about upgrading from my chipboard case. Looking at at a Gator HS for $64 or A Saga Travelite durofoam for $69? The durofoams are protective and light, have a friend with a Martin who has oneJim

I almost bought one from Music123 last week for the Alvarez RD20SSB I ordered. I went with a tweed Musicians Friend soft gigbag instead ($29.99). I got the gig bag yesterday. I am very impressed with it. I recommend them to anyone looking for an acoustic bag.
Members guit30 Posted March 12, 2006 Author Members Posted March 12, 2006 which one do you recommend?
Members JasmineTea Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 I'm not real particular about brand, as long as it's hard shell, and the guitar fits tightly without wiggling at all in the case. I don't know, but $60-70 does'nt sound too bad for a decent case.
Members Rada Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 When it comes to traveling, I love the Godin TRIC cases because they are so light and protect the guitar not only from impact but from severe weather changes ....but when I'm at home I like to have my Norman in a tweed Warwick Rockcase
Members Preacher Will Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 How about: http://www.ameritage.com/ http://www.caltoncases.ab.ca/

You sound like you've been on a 3 year world tour with it.....

Members daklander Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 My favorite case is a very nice, name unknown, hardshell I found in a pawn shop that is a perfect fit for my Yamaha FG150. I'd looked for years for one so I could stop using the stock unpadded plywood case. I also have and really like my Levy gig bag.
Members Dave W. Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 Long story short, my new OM-21 came with the wrong size case. Though not Martin's fault, they offered to swap it for me with the correct size, no charge. The proper case is their top of the line 600 series molded plastic. Looks wise, I really prefer the vintage 500 Series

You can fit them in the overhead storage compartment on planes too.
Members Gretsch Fan Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 Never put much thought into the case but I checked and my nice ones are all by TKL. The gig bag that came with the Martin LX1 is very nice. I think it is made by TKL too.
Members Tony Burns Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 I love, love, love my Vintage style Geib case that came with my Martin. looking for a new case for my Guild D-55 ( its in 60's Martin case thats close to shot- repaired it about a dozen times)trying to decide what would be the best case for that- want a really good one! any suggestions ?
