Members Rustie Posted March 10, 2006 Members Posted March 10, 2006 Looks nice but I've never had a chance to try one. How does it sound and how does it play? The model of the guitar is Ibanez Talman TCM50VBS.
Members Rustie Posted March 10, 2006 Author Members Posted March 10, 2006 Another one. This is an Ibanez aw 60ce.
Members Hudman Posted March 10, 2006 Members Posted March 10, 2006 I like the Ibanez aw 60ce much better. It's a real acoustic guitar.
Members learn'r Posted March 11, 2006 Members Posted March 11, 2006 I have had two Ibanez gits ... both from the PF series. they make a great beater guitar.i heard the talman was very thin body ... gotta be a loss there.
Members Gretsch Fan Posted March 11, 2006 Members Posted March 11, 2006 The Talman does not sound good. The one I played in a store looked cheap to match the thin/tinny sound. The AW60CE is far better.

Well, yeah can't imagine a thin body sounding good. I heard they sound good when amplified though.
Members happy hours Posted March 12, 2006 Members Posted March 12, 2006 I have an aw120 that is a joy to play and sounds nice too!
Members Rustie Posted March 12, 2006 Author Members Posted March 12, 2006 Yeah, they seem to be getting good reviews everywhere. I just don't know how much to offer for a used AW60. Looks like something like 200 euros would be enough.

I did not hook up the Talman to hear it amplified but my cheapie Bently is similar is size and while it sounds better plugged in it does not come to life so to speak. I do think you are in the right area offering 200 euros for the AW60CE. Let us know if you get it. FWIW I like the color too.

I E-mailed the guy and he said that someone had already offered 250 euros for it. I'm not sure if I want to go that high.

IIRC, new retail would have been around $500 which is probably around 400 euro so I'd hold tight if I were you. I used to collected wristwatches and learned that of any deal I thought was too good to pass up most would eventually come back my way. So I stopped feeling like I needed to buy right away.
