Members Darkstar31 Posted March 19, 2006 Members Posted March 19, 2006 Hi im new here looking to get an acoustic guitar. I dont realy wanna spend too much but want a nice decent sounding Guitar i Noticed not many people mention Washburn on here seen some nice deals on them at my local music store. Just wanted to get some peoples opinions on them. Thanks
Members studyscoot Posted March 19, 2006 Members Posted March 19, 2006 read the reviews section of the site. Most brands are quite diverse as far as models go. The model you want might turn out to be a huge hit or a major flop, and most makers usually have both.
Members kwakatak Posted March 19, 2006 Members Posted March 19, 2006 Washburns aren't bad guitars at all, but I'd look at a model with a solid top. Other than that they have some really nice features and a decent tone. I really like the J28 jumbo and I played a really nice dread about a year ago that had one of those fancy butterfly bridges. I think it was a D52SW but I'm not sure: Washburn solid wood Timberland dreadnoughts Washburn Cumberland J28 jumbos
Members Hudman Posted March 19, 2006 Members Posted March 19, 2006 Washburn makes nice guitars. You can buy one with a solid top for around $200.
Members ESL94 Posted March 19, 2006 Members Posted March 19, 2006 Studyscoot makes a good point. As well you should play a lot of different guitars and hear what sounds & feels good to you - to get the tone that you want.I own Washburn soild top dreadnought that I got (in a trade) in college and use it when I'm camping, on the our boat, and around our pool. Its a great outdoor guitar & gets played alot during the summer months by me & friends. It has seen better days but has aged well over the past 15 years. Its the one that I alway have in my truck.I think that I had 5 accoustics b/4 I decided to start to spend more money on better accoustics.Good look in finding your guitar.
