Help me find a pickup for my guitar?

Hi. I have a 1973 Gibson Hummingbird, and pretty soon I'm going to need to play it amplified. There's a good chance that mics and such will be used live, but in the case where something else is needed, I need to know what to get.

Basically, I want to know what my best option is for anything that doesn't require modification of my guitar. The SD Mag Mic looks appealing but seems kind of steep at close to $300. Are there other things available that combine the tone of a mic with the amplification power of a pickup? What are my options otherwise for the most authentic sounding solution?

K&K Pure Western Mini. Transducer pickup, and it is very nice. They are passive so you'll need a preamp to plug it into. An LR Baggs para acoustic or a K&K pre would be just fine. The only mod that you'll need is to drill the endpin out a bit and glue the transducers onto the bridgeplate. I had it done to my new OM-21 and haven't looked back. You won't get the same tone and clarity from any mag pickup in my opinion.
