Members fingerpicker Posted April 22, 2006 Members Posted April 22, 2006 The "clay shim trick" was discussed here way back when. I have a guitar where the High e and b strings are less volume when amplified (fisman prefix UST) Does the shim only improve tone, or does it really even out the volume? Here is a link to what I'm talking about: Little Brothers Clay Shim Trick BTW the saddle does not look uneven to my eye. I hve lightly and carefully sanded it down a bit to bring down the action.
Members Sweb Posted April 23, 2006 Members Posted April 23, 2006 Neat trick. I cannot answer your question but I also have some treble lameness and was wondering about how to correct it. If nothing else, thanks for bringing this to the forum. One day when my annoyance peaks I might just try this. I play unplugged mostly.
