Members happy hours Posted April 23, 2006 Members Posted April 23, 2006 and you can "buy it now" for only 1250
Members SusanV Posted April 23, 2006 Members Posted April 23, 2006 Would love to know the story behind that. Maybe a mad spouse took a Sharpie marker to it? Sad.
Members bsman Posted April 23, 2006 Members Posted April 23, 2006 That thing should be "People's Exhibit A" in a trial for defacing public art!

Members Sweb Posted April 24, 2006 Members Posted April 24, 2006 I'm no Sherlock Holmes but it appears someone was trying to get that lusterless look. Or, this guitar had a crazed/checked finish from improper temp control and the owner decided he wasn't up to completing his own refinish job. Or, he had a crazed/checked condition and was trying to buff himself out with the guitar. I kinda think the latter holds more water.
Members Kap'n Posted April 24, 2006 Members Posted April 24, 2006 Condition: Used Understatement of the year.
Members Rada Posted April 24, 2006 Members Posted April 24, 2006 It's just a Martin.....now if that was a Gibson we'd have some problems!
Members Tony Burns Posted April 24, 2006 Members Posted April 24, 2006 Did they put the wrong price down for this one , shouldnt it be 125.0 ( thinking they got the decimal point wrong ) is there a way to put some finish on this instrument to improve its look? Im also thinking about writing to the legislature of the state where this moron lives and see if they have the death penalty there - if they dont we should petition for it ! write your congressman / congressperson and plead for action !
Members t60 fan Posted April 24, 2006 Members Posted April 24, 2006 Maybe the prototype for Zager's "Finish Science".
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted April 24, 2006 Members Posted April 24, 2006 Well, if it's not too severe, it can always be refinished...but I doubt I'd give more than about $500...and I'd have to examine it closely, first! A guy I met once decided to do a similar thing to his D-35, but used an orbital sander...removed so much wood in places that parts of it was paper thin...one day he strummed too hard and put his thumb right through the face! (Edit) Anyone check out some of this joker's other "bargains"?
Members MaxHills Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 if i had say a 60s D 28... i doubt the very bottom sidewall of the guitar would be rubbed down past the finish... unless i wore sandpaper pants while i played ? and sandpaper elbow pads along with a sharpened steel pick
