Members Cldplytkmn Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 been meaning to buy a K&K pure western mini for a while now... when it gets here, i'll decide whether to put it in my larrivee or the hummingbird... probably the larrivee... bought a long hollow leather strap... 3 incher, if i like it i may get another one so i don't have to switch straps around... and i just got done ordering a new bone saddle for the hummingbird from bob... i got one made here local a while back and he went a bit low, and i think the volume has suffered... i'd rather have that guitar up a bit too high than too low since i pretty much just stay in the cash register on that one... anyways... boredom/idle time struck and i finally got down to ordering this stuff... tonight maybe its time to order some more strings (halfies, for anyone who remembers that, nobody local has em)
Members Gretsch Fan Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 All in all not a bad day then. Getting guitar gear is like Christmas everytime I pick something up.
Members Sweb Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 How does the K&K install? Heard much about them but little about the tech side of it. Do it myself?
Members kwakatak Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 Yeah, that's pretty much every day for me but I'm able to control it most days. Today I slipped up and bought a JLD Bridge Doctor to shore up my Tak's top. It's been a long time coming. I've also been meaning to get a Colossi bone saddle but can't decide which model I need. I also have to admit that the deal on K&K PW minis at Shoreline has me tempted. All in all, my GAS has been limited to a kid with only one nickle pressing his nose up against the window of the candy store. Who knows what'll happen tomorrow though?

Members Cldplytkmn Posted April 26, 2006 Author Members Posted April 26, 2006 every new day is another great chance to get crushed... thats my theory... haha Sweb: the K&K install isn't too bad... you put a piece of two sided tape on your finger, stick one of the sensors on there, a drop of glue... then you reach inside and stick them to the bridgeplate between the x brace and the bridge pins... it sounds kinda scary, but i did one about a year ago and it was no worries... they say that they aren't extremely sensitive to where they're placed.

Okay. I can manage that.

I don't care what a fellow gets paid, after awhile it just isn't worth it.

There's no better feeling than walking away from a soul-sucking situation, though it would be prudent to get the paycheck before burning any bridges.

Luckily, I really enjoy my job. It just has a tendency to get completely out of control at times (especially after quiet days). My pager, cell phone and desk phone will go crazy all day long. I end up driving from one location to another putting out fires all day long.

Members kwakatak Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 Yeah, but ya gotta have a stage.
Members Hudman Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 Originally posted by kwakatak Yeah, but ya gotta have a stage. That goes without saying. I like the idea of an informal restaurant bar. Chicken, ribs, steaks and burgers. Make cash on the lunch time and dinner crowd. Live bands every night.
Members JasmineTea Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 Originally posted by kwakatak Yeah, but ya gotta have a stage. Guy I know buys a bar, old-time bar. He builds a stage at the back of the bar that stands about 5 foot off the floor. You could just about touch the cieling from that stage.
Members kwakatak Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 Oh yeah, there's gotta be good wood (cedar paneling or Ponderosa pine columns) and pulled pork and beef BBQ. Someplace like Smokey Bones but without all those GAWDAM TVS!!! A decent list of beers on draft is also a must. No Red Dog, Budweiser, Coors Light or MGD!
Members JasmineTea Posted April 26, 2006 Members Posted April 26, 2006 One bar in town, the owner bought a PA, mics and stands, a couple acoustic guitars, a P-bass, a decent keyboard, a bunch of tambourines, maracas, bongos. Live music every night, whether you like it or not.
