Members samthinguy Posted June 24, 2005 Members Posted June 24, 2005 okay so I'm looking for a sound hole pickup that isn't real concerned with sounding like an acoustic...maybe more like a straight up electric guitar pickup. See i have this idea of blending some sounds and I need a pickup for the soundhole that will sound...jazzy, perhaps, can't really describe it, like a mixture between a jazzbox and an acoustic...Anyone know of anything?

Members Tarv Posted May 10, 2006 Members Posted May 10, 2006 Hey guys' I know this thread is old but I'm bump'n it because I am looking for the same thing, a soundhole pickup that will sound "electric" a fat humbucking type, not looking for acoustic clarity. I'm looking for something to take an acoustic into Les Paul territory.(Or as close as I can get to it)
Members valleyguy Posted May 10, 2006 Members Posted May 10, 2006 I have one of these I have used to perform with a band. I have also use it on occasion to record, before I had an electric guitar, as it does a fair job of sounding like one. With effects, you could fool a lot of people. They have three different kinds, single coil and humbucking. They're pretty cheap, so you can't go wrong. It never sounds acoustic, but I see you don't want that. Also easy to move from one guitar to another.

I'm looking for brand and model recomendations. I think a humbucker would suit my needs better, it seems like dimarzio makes some that are very "electric". Thanks:thu:
