Boosting acoustic amp with a PA?

So, i've been looking for an Acoustic Amp for a while now, and i've been thinking I might buy the AER Alpha, however, it is only 40 watts. I would buy the AER for its amazing tone, but say I wanted to boost the sound, could I buy a PA (Eg, 300 Watts) and plug the AER into it to boost the sound. Would I be able to do this without affecting the tone?

Say it was any Amp, would i be able to plug them directly into a PA to boost the sound for a larger concert, without affecting the sound? If so, what are the best PA's to buy? (Lets say a... 300 watt PA, something around that big).

Thanks.

They sound fine, but there are a lot of acoustic amps out there as good or better for less $$$.

As for your question about plugging a 40 watter into a PA, use the line-out jack.
