Members bud0505 Posted May 28, 2006 Members Posted May 28, 2006 I am waiting on the arrival of my newest purchase, a 1964 Gibson B-25 3/4 guitar. I am interested in opinions from people who own one or have own one. Is the plastic bridge all that bad? What would it cost to replace it with rosewood? Would the cost be worth it, ie add to the value or distract from the value of the guitar. thanks
Members Treborklow Posted May 28, 2006 Members Posted May 28, 2006 Other opinions may differ, but I don't think the value would change if you replaced the plastic bridge. Actually it might increase slightly as the plastic bridges are so hated. It's not a very valuable guitar in the first place so do what you need to do to enjoy it and make it sound it's best. I don't know the replacement cost of a bridge, just call around to a few repair places. It should be an easy retro fit providing the plastic bridge has not wrecked the top already.
