Members chadwickz71 Posted June 6, 2006 Members Posted June 6, 2006 I just played a 410 with the Expression system at guitar center and man was it sweet. I can't afford the new price though so im going for EBAY. I know, I know, BE CAREFUL.... Question is. I've read about all the TROUBLE with the expression system but people say that Taylor fixed everything... So WHAT YEAR MODEL would i be safe buying to get the upgraded stuff. Also,,, is it true the batteries on last like 5 hrs... thats crap.. is there anything that can be done about that.
Members studyscoot Posted June 6, 2006 Members Posted June 6, 2006 2003 (the year the ES came out) has most of the problems. Still a few here and there, but not nearly as frequent. The battery is only in use when the cable is plugged into the guitar...I get more than 5 hours.
Members chadwickz71 Posted June 6, 2006 Author Members Posted June 6, 2006 ok that sounds good I really like the 410ce... but don't won't to have a 1700 guitar break down of me all the time. About the batteries, do you have to use special types to replace them or just a good quality AA.
Members t60 fan Posted June 6, 2006 Members Posted June 6, 2006 I've had mine since Dec. 2004, not a bit of trouble and sounds great. Much more than 5 hrs. battery life for me...

Members DonK Posted June 6, 2006 Members Posted June 6, 2006 I had a 410ce (now gone) with the ES, and I now a have a 414ce with it. I never had a problem with the ES, and I absolutely LOVE it.
Members recordingtrack1 Posted June 7, 2006 Members Posted June 7, 2006 Taylor 315 with ES system. Had it for 2 years and have never had a problem with it. I use standard AA Alkaline batteries in it. Works flawlessly, sounds great. RT
