We all bonded together and purchased beloved HC member Kwakatak a guitar recently. All involved were happy to act selflessly and do a good deed...I want my money back. I thought that I would be getting a guitar next, but nooooo, Kwak gets his git and I wait everyday out on my porch for a Big Brown Truck to pull up with a brand new D-15S for Whalebot. Nothing, well I did get some picks and some strings from Maury, but I had to pay for those!

So here's what I propose...let's sell one of Jasmine Tea's guitars. We won't tell him about it and then one day after we feel that we've got a good deal going, Hudman will break into his house and we will sell designated guitar. I for one think it's a great idea, and this way JT can act selflessly twice in the same year. And maybe I get my damn money back.

(BTW this thread is a joke I love Neil and think that he creates some of the best music on thiis fine site):D

It's weird that you'd post this today! The I.K.F.C. had ironically hatched a remarkably similar plan to get a new guitar for JT and, to finance the caper, we've just wrapped up the sale of your OM-21 today on eBay!

Hud will stop by shortly to collect your OM-21. Thanks, man.

LOL, Whalebot! I knew there'd be a catch! ;)

BTW- is there anything you can spray on a guitar that will keep my 2 year-old from f#@king with it? I don't know how long the Larry will be able to take it.

Seriously, though - I'd be all for playing my part in "paying it forward" to somebody else in need. Even my wife and I can agree on that one. :thu:

I gotta admit, I like liver and onions. Even better with some bacon.

I'm not messing with JT. He probably has landmines and booby traps set up around the perimeter of his house.

Whalebot is a fellow Michigander - I can't steal from him.

Pick someone from Ohio. I'm 30 minutes from Toledo.

I will wait here for a name an address......{slips on black ski mask}

Whalebot - D-15S

carguy - 000-15

But where would be a good place to get a couple of Martins for a similar deal that Notable gave you all for the Larrivee? Hell, I don't even know what the street price is for one of those?!

I admit the 000-15S seems to be taunting me as a good blues picker, though. I sense a possibility for a HC Acoustic forum guitar! :freak:

BTW - I gotta hand it to you guys. I didn't see it coming at all, even though JT let it slip. Little did I know that Hudman was so devious as to acquire my home address and basically broker the deal with Notable and his Paypal account. I also crunched the numbers and can't believe that 20 complete strangers would each foot a couple of Hamiltons each. Last but not least, Jason at Notable also put up a helluva deal. I tip my hat to each of you.

Well, maybe "let it slip" is a poor choice of words. What I meant to say was that you originally came up with the idea. How it snowballed is completely beyond my ability to fathom.

BTW- you actually LIKE liver and onions?!? Next you'll be telling me that you like eating chicken necks and pig's knuckles!

You know... Not that I have the scratch at the moment... But I like the idea of (1) HC Acoustic Forum Git; (2) 000-15S being the base model.

Thread-jack...

What changes might we propose? A few suggestions:

1) Kill the decal and get a real herringbone inlay rosette.

2) Better tuners

3) Body binding. Rosewood?

Thanks, that was my GAS button! You had me at "herringbone"!

Ivroid binding would be good enough for me, just as long as the tunng buttons matched. I could do without the stained mahogany though. Leave it au naturale like Larrivee does and I'd be hooked. Add a teardrop pickguard from Greven and it'd be the complete package for a real kick-ass little blooz geetar! :thu:

BTW - what is the process for a custom order from Martin? I hear it takes about 6 months and even then QC is a bit "iffy".

Aw c,mon, we're classier than that, are'nt we? 14 fret OM of some kind, my vote.

No thanks on the chicken necks and pigs knuckles. How about bar food? Pickled eggs, Blind Robbins?

What? Did you just watch Tim Meadows in "Ladies Man" or something? I ain't about to get into a battle with you over who has the strongest stomach and get duped into eating pickled feces.

BTW - somebody write this down too: JT secretly wants a 14 fret OM (tonewoods to follow)

Pencil me in for one of these:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Washburn-J28SDL-Cumberland-Jumbo-Acoustic-Guitar-?sku=515324

Hey, that Knockwood fella paid for almost half of it up front. Luckily, everyone paid him back. Knockwood is a team player.

I believe 6 - 8 months is about average. Most often, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required up front. "Iffy" QC is, IMO, an unavoidable risk if you want a custom job from the big M. We'd have to find a dealer to go through.

I like the Greven guard idea.

We will also have to convert JT to the 12-fret idea...

My CIA contacts tell me the man covets an OM-35 sunburst but is not married to it. Think upper-crust Marty rosewood OM - OM-21 not to be ruled out.
