Neck joint styles

I was wondering what the "official" names for the different types of acoustic neck joints were. There's the style that tapers to a narrow triangular shape and there's the one that stays wide and rounded. I know "dovetail" refers to one of those styles but with Monday morning fatigue clouding my brain I can't recall which style. There's also the neck joint Seagull uses that is halfway between both styles.

 

Personally, I hate playing acoustics with the 'pointy' neck joints. The 'rounded' style is so much more comfortable for upper fret work IMO. What's your joint preferance?

some joints have more mass in the sound cavity as well thats an acoustic issue too

Straight joint with shims and fingerboard extension bolted - Taylor NT

Integral neck and heel block (classical) - Spanish heel
