Members LiveMusic Posted June 24, 2006 Members Posted June 24, 2006 I've heard that many times. What gives? I have a Tak EG240 and I don't know if it has anything special in it. Although, when I bought it, I thought it sounded spectacular. BUT the salesman had it going through a California Blonde amp. The Tak electronics certainly doesn't look like much. My Carvin Cobalt 780 has a Prefix Plus and I would assume it would superior. If Tak's are known for great electronics, what's the scoop?
Members KATMAN Posted June 25, 2006 Members Posted June 25, 2006 Maybe when they first came out with the electronics they were good. Now that almost every guitar that comes with a EQ,they are mediocer.I have a Takamine, and it's a nice playing guitar. The solid cedar top gives it the tone, not the electronics IMHO. I also have a ten year old laminated Epiphone that sounds great with electronics too. Yeah, I played mine through a little Fishman amp,and it blew me away with the sound. I guess it's the amps these days that really bring out the acoustic sound, not the just the guitar itself.Of course it wouldn't help either if you had a nice $2,000 all solid wood guitar either!
